CAPPIES OF GREATER CINCINNATI
Our mission is to celebrate and elevate student voices from every background, creating a welcoming community for all. We commit to:
-
A fully student-led review process
-
Student-driven awards and recognition
-
Showcasing diverse plays and musicals
-
Building student confidence
-
Raising local community awareness
-
Developing tomorrow’s readers
The Greater Cincinnati chapter champions 21st Century learning by training high school theatre and journalism students to write better, think critically, and lead with purpose.
Each year, student critics vote to honor outstanding productions, performances, technical work, and writing. Awards are presented at the annual Cappies Gala at the Aronoff Center. We are proud to be part of the National Cappies Organization.

Join the Cappies!
Greater Cincinnati Cappies engages students in teamwork, thoughtfulness, and theatre across the region. Participating schools create critic teams, whom they send to different shows across the area and write reviews for. The critics also come to see shows at all participating schools and get to meet students from other schools with similar passions.
Our program is always looking to reach more schools! If your school is interested in joining our program, please reach out to Program Director Mike Sherman at michael.sherman@cappies.org or visit the Board page.

At our annual gala, nominated shows get to perform on the same stage that graces Cincinnati's Broadway tours--The Aronoff Center's Procter & Gamble Hall!
